This Return and RMA Policy explains how Privé Aero ("Privé Aero", "we", "us" or "our") handles the return of aircraft parts and components. Because aviation parts carry certification and traceability requirements, all returns are subject to prior authorisation and to the conditions below. This policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
1. Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA)
No item may be returned without a Return Merchandise Authorisation. To request an RMA, contact sales@priveaero.com with the order or invoice number, part number, serial number, quantity and the reason for return. If approved, we will issue an RMA number and return instructions. The RMA number must appear on the paperwork and the outside of the package. Items received without a valid RMA may be refused or returned at the sender's cost.
2. Return Window
Requests to return a correctly supplied item must be made within thirty (30) days of delivery, unless a different period is stated in your offer or invoice. Requests made after this period may be declined. Approved items must reach us within fifteen (15) days of the RMA being issued.
3. Condition and Documentation Requirements
To be accepted, a returned item must be:
- In the same condition as supplied, unused and un-installed, with all seals, tags and protective packaging intact.
- Accompanied by all certification and traceability documentation originally supplied, such as EASA Form 1, FAA 8130-3 or equivalent release documentation.
- Free of any additional markings, modification or damage that would affect its airworthiness status or resale.
Any item that has been installed, tested beyond inspection, modified, or separated from its certification will not be accepted for credit.
4. Cancellation and Restocking Fees
Orders are subject to a fifteen percent (15%) cancellation fee and a twenty-five percent (25%) restocking fee. The cancellation fee applies where an order is cancelled before dispatch. The restocking fee applies to correctly supplied items returned for the buyer's convenience and covers inspection, re-certification handling and administration. Any cancellation or return must be requested in writing and authorised by Privé Aero. These fees do not apply where the cancellation or return results from our error or a confirmed warranty claim.
5. Non-Returnable Items
The following are generally not eligible for return:
- Items specially sourced, built to order or cut to length for the buyer.
- Electrostatic sensitive, hazardous, or shelf-life limited items whose seals have been opened or whose shelf life is materially reduced.
- Items sold as-is, as-removed, for teardown, or otherwise marked non-returnable in the offer.
- Items returned without their original certification and traceability documentation.
6. Incorrect or Non-Conforming Items
If we ship an item that does not match your confirmed order, or that arrives with a documentation or condition discrepancy attributable to us, notify us within fourteen (14) days of delivery. We will arrange return at our cost and, at our option, replace the item, correct the documentation or issue a refund. Please retain all packaging and documentation to support the claim.
7. Warranty Returns
Items returned under warranty are handled in accordance with the warranty stated in your offer or order confirmation and with our Terms & Conditions. Warranty claims must be notified in writing within the applicable warranty period, with evidence of the defect. Warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, improper installation, foreign object damage or normal wear.
8. Exchange and Core Returns
For exchange transactions, the unserviceable core unit must be returned within the period stated in the offer, in a condition and configuration comparable to the unit supplied, and with its documentation. Cores that are beyond economical repair, incomplete, or missing required paperwork may attract additional charges or the loss of the exchange price. Where a core is not returned within the agreed period, the outright price may become payable.
9. Shipping and Risk
Unless the return results from our error or an accepted warranty claim, the buyer is responsible for return shipping costs and for insuring the item for its full value until it reaches us. Returns must be packed to protect the item and its documentation. Risk of loss or damage in transit remains with the sender until the item is received and inspected by us.
10. Inspection and Refunds
All returns are inspected on receipt. Once a return is accepted, any refund or credit due, less any applicable restocking fee, is issued using the original payment method or as an account credit, normally within thirty (30) days of acceptance. If a returned item does not meet the conditions above, we will contact you and may return the item at your cost.
